CMG Holdings Sdn Bhd, from Malaysia winner of the BID International Quality Summit Award in New York

New York hosted the Inernational Quality Summit Award to reward highly-qualified professionals currently involved in big projects, whose decisions affect millions of people around the world and whose work meets the criteria of the ISO 9000 and the QC100 TQM model. All of them were present at the 2012 BID Quality Award.

Thed Cor Yong and John Lee of CMG Holdings Sdn Bhd, a leading company in its sector and in Malaysia, proudly accepted the BID International Quality Summit Award at the International Quality convention in New York. B.I.D. chose the most important city economically and culturally in the world. New York is the reference point for international businesses. With a population of over 8 million inhabitants within an area of 1,214 square kilometers, it is distinguished among other cosmopolitan cities as the location of the United Nations and with its stock market as the center of the global economy. It is also a cultural and entertainment center with a wealth of monuments of great historical value: the Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, its museums, most notably the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), the center of theatrical productions (Broadway) and the location of the world's most visited media enclave- Times Square, all of which have made it the perfect city to present the B.I.D. International Quality Awards.

Among the BID award winners in New York included Suzlon Energy Ltd, from India. The Suzlon Group of India is ranked as the world's fifth largest wind turbine supplier with over 19,000 MW of wind energy capacity installed in 28 countries, operations in 32 countries, a workforce of over 13,000, and revenue of over $3.2 billion USD.

ANKOL Poland, from Poland. Leading supplier of parts and repair/overhaul services for the country's military aviation, police and border guards as well as materials and products for civil and military aviation manufacture and repair plants. This company also collaborates in projects with NATO.

CMG Holdings Sdn Bhd won the International Quality Summit Award in New York in the presence of business leaders and representatives from 76 countries. At the International Quality Summit Convention, Thed Cor Yong, Group Managing Director and John Lee, Group General Manager of CMG Holdings Sdn Bhd proudly received this distinction symbolizing quality and innovation from the President and C.E.O. of Business Initiative Directions, Jose E. Dogus Insaat Ve Ticaret a.S., from Turkey. One of Turkey's most prominent infrastructure construction companies with current projects valued at $4.5 billion USD with total projects since its inception worth in excess of $12 billion USD.

Also present was Sonangol Gás Natural-Sonagás, from Angola. The company is responsible for overseeing the petroleum and natural gas production in Angola. The country is estimated to have over 5 billion barrels of offshore and coastal petroleum reserves.

Representing United Arab Emirates was Dubai Police Headquarter. Considered one of the most progressive police forces in the world, the government body maintains the highest quality standards. It has 15,000 members and its work is based on education, respect, and implementation of the TQM model. Police Dubai Police is the first Arab country to use an electronic fingerprinting system and the first Arab government to apply the concept of "clean desk policy", which is an electronic document management.

Transnet Rail Engineering, from South Africa, an operating division of Transnet Limited, is the backbone of South Africa's railway industry with eight product-focused businesses,150 depots, seven factories and 15, 000 employees countrywide. The organization is dedicated to in-service maintenance, repair, upgrade, conversion and manufacture of freight wagons, mainline and suburban coaches, diesel and electric locomotives as well as wheels, rotating machines, rolling stock equipment, castings auxiliary equipment and services.
Also representing Azerbaijan was Azpetrol Ltd, one of the largest employers in the country, with its more than 2500 employees, Azpetrol Ltd. LLC operates 77 petrol and 5 gas stations covering most of the economic regions of Azerbaijan.

Among these winners from around the world was Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd. (YOFC), from China. Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd. (YOFC) is a joint venture between 3 partners, China Telecommunications Corporation, Wuhan Yangtze Communications Industry Group Company Ltd. and Draka Comteq of the Netherlands. The comany have an area of 170,000 km2. Since 1992, YOFC has supplied more than 200 Million fKM of optical fibre and cable products to the market with the total sales revenue at 35 billion CNY. During the successive 19 years, YOFC has solidly hold the NO.1 position in the China optical fibre and cable market and is now among the top 3 suppliers globally. In the global market, YOFC has extended its business to more than 50 countries, including USA, Japan, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, etc.
